Catechist's Corner

No methodology, no matter how well tested, can dispense with the person of the catechist in every phase of the catechetical process. The charism given to him by the Spirit, a solid spirituality and transparent witness of life, constitutes the soul of every method." General Directory for Catechesis #156

Catechist Formation Opportunities

Providing you, the catechists with the knowledge, skills, and background to be the best catechist possible is one of our primary goals in the religious education program. The US Catholic Conference has set a basic framework for formation of catechists which spells out the areas to be presented and the amount of training that should be provided. Basic Certification (Level I) consists of an introductory level that all catechists should strive to achieve within the first 3 years of ministry.
