No methodology, no matter how well tested, can dispense with the person of the catechist in every phase of the catechetical process. The charism given to him by the Spirit, a solid spirituality and transparent witness of life, constitutes the soul of every method." General Directory for Catechesis #156

Catechist Formation Opportunities
We use the Echoes of Faith program for level I catechist formation and certification. This program combines video presentations by some of the top people in the country in the various areas with a participants workbook and small group discussion to provide a wonderful balance between content and integration. This program consists of a total of 10 courses. Five 8 hour courses that focus on deepening the participants understanding of our faith (the theological modules) and five 5 hour courses that focus on deepening our understanding of the catechesis and the tools needed to be a more effective catechist. These are offered on an ongoing cycle and are open to all. Below is a listing of all the courses
Be sure to pick up a workbook before these classes, view the first session, and complete the assigned pages. The workbook needs to be picked up here even if you are attending at another parish.
******In addition to the Echoes of Faith Workshops catechists must also take Foundations in Catechesis before beginning Level II workshops.
