Members of our parish family have many needs, and it is the mission of the parishioners of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church to unite to assist those needing help.
Bereavement Ministry
Sts. Peter and Paul parish realizes that the death of a loved one is a very challenging time. Members of the Bereavement Committee unite in assisting the family during this time of need. Volunteers respond immediately when notified of a death and are willing to provide assistance with the funeral reception or any other arrangements, if requested. Our Bereavement Committee coordinates with the family to ensure that food is prepared and is ready to be served to the family and guests following a funeral. Some members of this ministry assist with the preparation of baked goods or sandwiches at home, while others come to the parish and set up facilities for the reception and serve those who attend.
Follow-up calls may be made to family members for several months following a death. If you need the services of this ministry or if you would like to volunteer to join this ministry contact Allene Hubertus (830) 625-8957 or Hazel Sluga (830) 606-4007.
Blessed Mothers
Our Blessed Mothers have accepted a ministry which helps families as God has blessed them with a newborn child. Members of this ministry contact the family and offer to bring a home-cooked hot mea to their homel. The family is asked for a preferable date and time for the meal to arrive, and they are asked if there are any specific dietary needs or restrictions which need to be considered when preparing the meal. With this information in hand, the Blessed Mothers begin the loving preparation of the meal. They then deliver the hot meal and a little token of our Catholic faith to the family. Touching the hearts and feeding the family of a new child of of God is their mission. And they love their ministry of love. If you know someone in our parish who has a newborn child, please contact Joyce Wolnik (830) 626-3339 or Melanie Owens at (830) 626-6987 so that the Blessed Mothers may greet the family and offer their services. And, if you are someone who enjoys cooking and would enjoy working with this ministry, Joyce and Melanie would be most happy to hear from you. And let us always keep these new members of God's family in our prayers.
A special group of parishioners have united to become The Gardening Angels
God sends a butterfly to enjoy the work of our Gardening Angels
Our grounds are large, and it is the Gardening Angels who keep it beautiful through the seasons.
A peaceful prayer and meditation area behind our Grotto.
Our Gardening Angels are parishioners who love to be in God's outdoors and who enjoy caring for His plants. Our parish grounds are divided into areas, and each of the members has an area to maintain. Each Angel develops his or her own schedule for care of the grounds, based upon personal time available and the needs of the area. If you enjoy gardening, and if you would like the satisfaction of seeing that you are making His grounds a more welcoming place for His children, perhaps you would like to join this ministry. What a way to say "Thank you, Lord, for our beautiful world." For more information or to join this ministry contact Tim Barker at (830) 629-5015.
Divorced, Separated, Widowed Ministry This ministry was formed to provide support in a strong Catholic environment for all who are divorced, separated or widowed.. Gatherings are held the second Monday of each month and are announced in the bulletin. To learn more about this ministry please contact Peggy Hoffman at (830) 629-9947.
Singles Group
We have an active singles group. It meets in an informal setting to encourage an opportunity for the Singles in our parish to meet like-minded Catholics in order to share our faith. The lunches and mixers/meetings are decided about a month in advance and are always announced in the bulletin. Watch for them. For questions or to learn more about this ministry, contact Celena.

Welcoming Committee Shortly after new parishioners register with our parish, they receive a call and a visit, if desired, from a member of the welcoming committee. Members of the committee attempt to answer any questions which newcomers may have about the parish and let them know how pleased we are to have them as members of God's family at Sts. Peter and Paul. If you would like to join this ministry or if you would like more information about this ministry, please contact Agnes Geigenmiller at (830) 560 3732. Also, if you know of a new parishioner, feel free to contact Agnes so that she can ensure that this person has been contacted and welcomed to our parish. .
