2ND YEAR CONFIRMATION
Our high school youth ministry program has one goal - for students to experience God's presence in their life and show them that God is real. We use adapted Ascension Press & Chosen curriculum for these evenings.
Join on Sunday Evenings, 6:30-8:30pm
Open to 10th, 11th, & 12th grades
St. Anne's Hall (10th grade)
*Food is served from 6:30pm-7:00pm in St Mary's hall with programming to follow
Students are required to attend Mass as part of their attendance. Youth and their parents are encouraged to attend Mass together at 5:30pm
on Sunday's. This is the dedicated Life Teen Mass. These Masses on Sunday evenings are facilitated (Lectors, EMEs, Music, Altar servers and Ushers) by our high school ministry students.
Need to know information for ALL SECOND YEAR Registrations
**ATTENTION**
If your child is SECOND year 1st Communion Preparation or SECOND year OCIA.
You must fill out a form in person in the Youth Ministry Office.
If you child is 2nd year Confirmation, proof of sacraments must be uploaded in the online registration form in order for it to be accepted.
(If the sacraments were done at SPP, the dates must be submitted for us to find them. We will not accept this registration without the dates and/or a upload of the certificates from another parish.)

**ATENCIÓN**
Si su hijo/a está en segundo año de preparación para la Primera Comunión o en segundo año de OCIA,
debe completar un formulario en persona en la Oficina de Pastoral Juvenil.
Si su hijo/a está en segundo año de Confirmación, debe adjuntar el comprobante de los sacramentos al formulario de inscripción en línea para que este sea aceptado.
(Si los sacramentos se administraron en SPP, debe proporcionar las fechas para que podamos consultarlas. No se aceptará esta inscripción sin las fechas y/o sin adjuntar los certificados de otra parroquia).
Confirmation Requirements
✔ Be in at least 10th grade at the time of Confirmation
✔Attend Sunday Mass weekly
✔ Attend an overnight retreat
✔ Complete 30 hours of service
✔ Submit copy of Baptism & First Communion Certificate
✔ Complete a Personal Interview
✔ Receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation
✔ Complete second year Confirmation curriculum
1st Year
✔ Establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
✔ Attend Sunday Mass weekely. (Will be part of their attendance)
✔ Attend Sunday Night Programming
✔ Start researching Saints
✔ Good class attendance - No more than three absences (make up lessons will be given for more than 3 classes missed)
✔ Begin working on service hours
✔ Begin thinking of a sponsor
2nd Year
✔ Telephone call to sponsor
✔ Good Class Attendance - No more than three absences
✔ Attend an overnight retreat: Confirmation retreat or
Teen ACTS
✔ Personal Interview
✔ Attend Sunday Mass weekely. (Will be part of their attendance)
✔ Reconciliation on retreat
✔ Complete service hours by March 5
Important Dates for 2nd Year Candidates
- Choose a sponsor: In Fall Semester
- Sponsor Meeting: September 9th 2026 6:30pm ST Mary's Hall (English).

- Summer Teen ACTS Retreat at El Shaddai in Yorktown TX: July 2027
- Confirmation Rehearsals - Will be the day prior to your students' Confirmation date in the Church. Sponsors should attend, if not available a parent must stand in their place.

Guidelines for Choosing a Confirmation Sponsor
- Sponsor must be at least 16 years old
- Sponsor must be a fully initiated Catholic (received Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation)
- Sponsor must be a Catholic in good standing with the Church (married in the Church), if your sponsor was not married in the Church and are interested in having their marriage blessed email viriginawills@sppnb.org.
- Sponsor cannot be a parent.
To parents of older Confirmation Candidates:
- If your son or daughter starts the program in 10th grade, he or she will be confirmed in the 11th grade.
- If your son or daughter starts the program in 11th grade, he or she will be confirmed in the 12th grade.
- Any 12th grader who needs the Sacrament of Confirmation will attend our Confirmation program on Sunday evenings and will be confirmed in that year providing he or she completes all other requirements, especially attendance.
Please consult with the Youth Ministry office to determine readiness and preparation for Confirmation for any student who begins after the 9th grade.
CURRICULUM
- First year students will meet in St. Mary's Hall for dinner and program on Sunday evenings, and we will be using the Lifeteen & Altaration program by Ascension Press
- Second year students will meet for dinner in St. Mary's Hall and then move to St. Anne's Hall, and we will be using the Chosen program by Ascension Press.
Our teachers and deacons will conduct confirmation interviews in the spring. Before entering this final phase of preparation for Confirmation, students will be required to submit a copy of their baptismal and first communion certificates, sponsor information, and any other requested documentation.
